SO Green achieves successful golf course maintenance through the application of agronomic knowledge, communication, and the optimal management of available means. We utilize an integrated approach to include climates, soils, budgetary and water resources to realize the maximum level of playing conditions with a minimum of inputs.

 At SO Green, we believe that for every problem there is a solution, and this is especially true for existing golf courses which over time have degraded. Greens, bunkers, tees and other features on the course can be restored to the original grandeur and better through a trained eye and a deft touch.

Management of 36 holes of golf, plus gardens, at an exclusive private club near Paris. Directed significant improvements to the two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., including faster green surfaces that set the level for the Paris region. Ongoing renovation of 134 bunkers, construction of greens, tees, bunkers, and cart paths, and up-graded irrigation control system all performed “in-house” by club employees. Successfully hosted the Vivendi Cup, a P.G.A. European Tour event, contested over 36 holes, in September of 2010 along with corporate golf days for top French and international companies.

Managed an 18-hole resort course in arid, tropical conditions, overcoming salt affected conditions to provide superior playing surfaces.

 

 
 

Managed a 36-hole, five-star resort golf courses and landscaped grounds on the Algarve coast. Instrumental in Penina achieving rating in top 50 courses in Europe (Golfweek magazine, 1997).

 

 
 

Directed the grow-in and initial maintenance set-up of the first 27-hole resort course on the Mediterranean coast. Pioneered the successful management of bermudagrass and winter over-seeding in an area where golf was previously unknown, assembling and training staff. Ongoing agronomy consulting support, staff training, project management and renovation in subsequent years.

 

 
 

On-site supervision for golf course construction and grow-in on behalf of Gary Player Design on projects in South Africa, Spain, and the Philippines.
